Description: 19th century fusee wall clock by John Moore and son, London and numbered 1580. Marked VR for Queen Victoria.
Mahogany 2 piece case with locking bottom door and pendulum side access door. Bezel and backbox secured by 4 pegs.
12”original white painted dial marked with Roman numerals. Usual distinctive blued steel spade hands, protected by a glazed spun brass bezel.
Single chain fusee movement.
This clock was supplied to judges chambers in the inner Temple within the City of London. There is a paper label inside the side door, referring to Mr Justice Bennets clerk, law courts.
This clock dates to circa 1870.
